Learn How to Win Material: Discovered Attack
This middlegame puzzle is a classic example of a discovered attack combined with tactical simplification. White’s queen is under pressure, but the position contains a hidden resource: the queen can be used to force a sequence that opens lines for the rooks and bishop. The key idea is that once the central tension is resolved, White’s pieces become much more active, and Black’s queen-side coordination collapses. In classical chess, these forcing moves often decide the game by winning material rather than by direct attack on the king.
