Learn How to Back Rank Mate: Forced Checkmate
This puzzle is a classic back rank mate pattern in a sharp middlegame. The key idea is that the enemy king has very limited escape squares because its own pieces and pawns restrict flight, while a forcing check creates a decisive mating net. Even when material is balanced or better for one side, a direct tactical shot can override everything. Recognizing loose back-rank protection and overloaded defenders is often enough to find the winning combination.
