Learn How to Spot a Mate in 1: Scandinavian Defense
This puzzle shows how a seemingly normal middlegame can hide a direct mating attack. In the Scandinavian Defense, early queen activity can create tactical chances if the enemy king is exposed or the pawn shield is loosened. Even material advantage does not matter if the king has no safe squares and the defense is overloaded.
