Learn How to Spot Mate in 3: Discovered Check
This puzzle is a classic middlegame attacking pattern where king safety outweighs material. White’s pieces are coordinated around the enemy king, and the key idea is to use a forcing check that also creates a discovered attack on the back rank and nearby defenders. Even though Black may be materially ahead, the exposed king and weakened pawn shield make the position tactically lost. In classical chess, these are the moments where forcing moves matter more than counting pieces.
