Learn How to Win Material: Fork Tactic
This puzzle shows a classic middlegame tactical idea from the Russian Game: using a forcing check to create a fork and win material. Black’s active pieces coordinate against White’s king and rook, while White’s queen is overloaded defending key squares. The key lesson is that a forcing move can change the whole evaluation immediately, especially when the opponent’s king, queen, and rook are loosely connected. In classical chess, these tactical shots often decide the game before any endgame begins.
