Learn How to Deflection Mate: Mate in 2
This middlegame puzzle is a classic example of a deflection attack against the king’s shelter. Black’s queen is active near the white king, and the key idea is to lure a defender away from the critical diagonal and file. Once that defender is pulled off its post, the mating net becomes unavoidable. In classical chess, these short forcing lines often appear when king safety is already compromised and one piece can no longer cover every threat.
