Learn How to Spot a Mate in 1: Kingside Attack
This middlegame puzzle is a classic example of a kingside attack turning into an immediate mating net. Black’s heavy pieces are already deep in White’s position, and the white king has very little shelter. When the queen and rook coordinate on the king zone, even a seemingly ordinary capture can become decisive if it removes the last defender and opens the final mating square. The key lesson is to always check forcing moves first when the enemy king is exposed.
