Learn How to Spot a Mate in 2: Queenside Attack
This puzzle comes from the Sicilian Defense, Dragon Variation, where the attack is aimed at the enemy king from the queenside. The position is a classic example of a forcing tactical finish: the side to move has a direct check that drives the king into a mating net. Even though White is materially ahead, the exposed coordination around the king creates a sudden tactical collapse. In classical chess, these patterns reward calculation over material count.
