Petrov's Defense Attack Defender Chess Puzzles

Petrov's Defense Attack Defender is a motif in the Petrov Defense where one side attacks the piece that is doing the defending, usually the knight on f6 or the e-pawn structure that supports it. A defining position often arises after 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nf6, when White can use forcing moves to challenge Black's defender before it stabilizes the center. The idea is to remove or overload the defender so the protected square or piece becomes vulnerable.
