Learn How to Attack the King: Kingside Attack
This middlegame puzzle is a classic example of a kingside attack where activity matters more than material. White may look ahead on the board, but the king’s shelter is loose and key dark-square weaknesses give Black tactical chances. The attacking side uses forcing moves to drag the defender into awkward squares, then opens lines for the bishop and rook. In positions like this, the best move is often a check that improves every piece at once.
