Learn How to Win with a Kingside Attack: Pin Tactic
This puzzle comes from the Caro-Kann Defense Exchange Variation, where the middlegame turns tactical because king safety outweighs material balance. White’s pieces are active, but Black’s coordination creates a direct kingside attack based on a pin and a discovered attack motif. In positions like this, the key is to notice when a seemingly natural move can force the enemy king into a vulnerable square and expose loose pieces around it. The attack works because the defender’s pieces are overloaded and the king has limited flight squares.
