Learn How to Spot a Kingside Attack: Mate in 1
This puzzle comes from the King’s Indian Defense and shows how quickly a kingside attack can become decisive when the enemy king is exposed. Even in a middlegame where material looks close, active queen and minor-piece coordination can create an immediate mating net. The key lesson is that king safety can outweigh everything else: once the defender’s pawn shield is weakened and key squares around the king are controlled, a single forcing move can end the game at once.
