Learn How to Spot: Mate in 2
This puzzle comes from the Italian Game, Classical Variation, where White’s pieces are ideally placed for a direct kingside attack. The key idea is to use active queen and knight coordination to exploit the exposed black king and the weakened pawn shield around it. Even though Black may be materially ahead, king safety is the dominant factor. In classical chess, a well-timed forcing move can override static material and create a mating net very quickly.
