Learn How to Win Material: Decisive Forks
This middlegame puzzle shows a classic tactical idea from the Indian Defense: use forcing moves to exploit king safety and loose pieces. Black’s attack works because White’s king is stuck in the center, the queen and knight coordinate well, and White’s back rank and minor pieces are awkwardly placed. The key is to notice that a forcing capture can drag the king into a vulnerable square, after which a knight fork wins even more material. It is a clean example of tactical conversion, not slow maneuvering.
