Fork Puzzle (Rated 1103): Spot a Skewer — Endgame
A skewer is a forcing tactical pattern in which a valuable piece, often the king, is attacked first and must move, exposing a less valuable piece behind it. In this chess endgame, Black’s queen can exploit the alignment of White’s king and rook while also addressing the pressure on the other side of the board. The position rewards precise calculation because White has extra material, yet the exposed pieces and active queen create immediate tactical counterplay.
