Fork Advanced Puzzle (Rated 616): Fork — Knight Fork
A knight fork is a powerful tactical pattern in which one knight attacks two or more valuable targets at once, often checking the king while attacking a rook or another major piece. In this chess endgame, Black’s active knight exploits the centralized white king and the vulnerable rook on the open file. The tactic is especially effective because the check forces a response, giving White little time to save the attacked rook. Material advantage then becomes decisive.
