Learn How to Win Material: Fork Tactic
This puzzle comes from the Englund Gambit and shows a classic middlegame tactical idea: using a fork to win material. Black’s central pawn thrust creates immediate pressure on two key white pieces at once, and the position quickly simplifies into a favorable trade sequence. The important lesson is that tactical shots often appear when a piece is advanced into the center and the opponent’s queen and bishop become vulnerable to the same attacker. In classical chess, these forcing ideas can decide the game even without a direct attack on the king.
