Learn How to Win Material: Discovered Attack
This middlegame puzzle is a classic example of a discovered attack: one piece moves with tempo, uncovering a stronger line of attack behind it. The key idea is that the opponent’s king is exposed and a pinned or overloaded piece can’t respond cleanly. Instead of chasing immediate checks, look for forcing moves that win material by opening a line against the queen and king at the same time. In classical chess, these tactical patterns often decide the game quickly.
