English Opening Intermezzo Puzzle (Rated 1162): Use an Intermezzo — Winning Material

This puzzle shows a classic opening intermezzo: instead of recapturing immediately, Black inserts a forcing check that changes the whole position. The key idea is to exploit the exposed white king and the loose bishop on d5, then convert the resulting tactical sequence into a clean material win. In opening play, these forcing moves often work because development is incomplete and one tactical shot can win a piece or create a decisive imbalance.
