Learn How to Deflect: Kingside Attack
This middlegame puzzle is a classic example of a kingside attack built on deflection and a short tactical sequence. The attacking side uses a forcing check to pull the king into an awkward square, where the defender’s coordination collapses. Once the king is displaced, a pinned or overloaded piece becomes vulnerable and the follow-up lands with tempo. The position rewards tactical vision more than material count, which is why static evaluation can be misleading.
