Catalan Trapped Piece Chess Puzzles

The Catalan Trapped Piece is a tactical motif in the Catalan Opening where Black’s bishop, usually the c8-bishop, can become trapped after White fianchettos the bishop on g2 and controls the long diagonal. A defining setup often involves White’s pressure on b7 and the queenside, while Black’s bishop runs out of safe squares after moving too early or being blocked by its own pawns.
