Learn How to Mate in 1: Queenside Attack
This puzzle is a classic middlegame mating pattern where the attacking side uses active pieces to exploit the enemy king’s limited escape squares. The key idea is that the queen’s placement on the queenside creates a direct threat against the king while also coordinating with the rook to restrict flight squares. Even in a materially lopsided position, a single tactical shot can end the game immediately when the king is boxed in and key defenders are overloaded.
