Yuri Averbakh (White) Puzzle: Draw — Perpetual Check
A perpetual check is a drawing tactic in which the defending side checks the enemy king repeatedly, leaving no safe route to escape the cycle. Material can be wildly uneven, but an exposed king may outweigh that advantage. Here, Black’s queen and active bishop concentrate on the weakened light squares around White’s king. The attacking pieces coordinate so that each check restricts the king while preserving the next checking route, turning king safety into immediate counterplay.
