Vladislav Artemiev (White) Puzzle: Trap a Rook — Checks

A runaway rook can look powerful when it penetrates deep into the enemy camp, especially near an exposed king. Yet activity is only valuable when the rook has safe retreat squares. This puzzle shows how a forcing check can change the geometry of the board: the defending king is displaced, the attacking queen is redirected, and the advanced rook becomes short of useful escapes. White’s extra material makes converting the initiative especially important.
