Robert Huebner (Black) Puzzle: Perpetual Check — Draw
A perpetual check is a drawing resource in which the attacking side keeps the opposing king under repeated checks with no safe escape from the cycle. This puzzle highlights queen activity against an exposed central king: White cannot safely ignore Black’s counterplay, but the checking pattern prevents Black from consolidating. In a sharp chess endgame or simplified middlegame, a perpetual can be as valuable as a material advantage because it fixes the result immediately.
