Pal Benko (White) Puzzle: Fork — Forcing Checks

A queen fork is especially powerful when it begins with check. The opposing king must respond immediately, so it cannot protect another vulnerable piece at the same time. In this position, active white pieces exploit Black’s exposed king and an undefended rook. The key tactical idea is to place the queen where it attacks the king while also creating a direct threat against valuable material. This turns Black’s apparent material edge into a tactical liability.
