Mikhail Chigorin (Black) Puzzle: Perpetual Check — Queen

A perpetual check is a drawing resource in which the attacking side repeats checks until the defender cannot escape the cycle without allowing a worse result. This puzzle is driven by queen activity against a centralized king, with the knight adding pressure around key escape squares. Material is level, but king safety is not: the exposed king gives Black enough forcing tempo to maintain counterplay. In a chess endgame or tense middlegame, perpetual check can save a position that looks strategically difficult.
