Lev Psakhis (Black) Puzzle: Promote — Pawn Promotion

Pawn promotion becomes especially powerful when a passed pawn reaches the seventh rank and distracts the defender. In this chess endgame, White is materially behind, but the advanced queenside passer ties down Black’s pieces. A rook pin and skewer restrict the bishop near the king, creating the conditions for promotion. The key idea is that even if the promoted piece is exchanged, the resulting rook activity can transform the position and secure a decisive advantage.
