Leonid Stein (Black) Puzzle: Spot — Discovered Check

A discovered check occurs when one piece moves away from a line, revealing a rook, bishop, or queen attack on the enemy king. This puzzle combines that hidden check with a tactical attack on a valuable opposing piece. The position is an instructive chess endgame: Black’s active knight and rook coordinate effectively, while White’s exposed king makes the discovered attack especially powerful. The key idea is to use forcing play before material and pawn-structure advantages can disappear.
