Larry Christiansen (White) Puzzle: Draw — Perpetual Check
A perpetual check is one of the most important saving resources in a queen endgame. Even when the defender faces an extra passed pawn and appears strategically worse, an exposed king can outweigh material. The attacking queen repeatedly checks from safe squares, forcing the enemy king along a limited route. If the checking pattern can be repeated and the opponent cannot block, capture, or escape the sequence, the position is a draw by repetition.
