Larry Christiansen (White) Puzzle: Skewer — Decoy
A skewer reverses the familiar pin: the more valuable piece stands in front, so a forcing attack on it exposes what is behind. In this classical chess puzzle, White exploits an exposed king and an overloaded defensive setup. The initial check draws the king toward a vulnerable square, creating a tactical sequence in which a queen must respond to pressure while a valuable target remains aligned behind it. The result is a decisive material gain, not a mating combination.
