Jorden Van Foreest (Black) Puzzle: Deflect — Rook Capture

Deflection is a tactical idea in which a defending piece or king is forced away from an important duty. In this chess endgame, White combines checking moves with an advanced passed pawn to pull the black king away from the defense of a rook. Once the defender is displaced, the exposed rook becomes vulnerable. The key lesson is that material can be won through coordination, even when the opponent initially has an extra rook.
