James Mason (Black) Puzzle: Skewer — Rook Check
A skewer is a forcing tactical attack in which a valuable target is driven away, exposing a less valuable piece behind it. In this chess endgame, the rook uses an active checking line to force the opposing king into a less favorable square. That displacement leaves a bishop vulnerable to capture. The pattern is especially powerful when a side appears materially behind but can create immediate threats with an active rook.
