Henrique Mecking (White) Puzzle: Skewer — Line Attack

A skewer is a line tactic in which a valuable piece is attacked while an even more valuable target sits behind it. The front piece must respond, leaving the rear piece exposed. Here, White’s active bishop can use a long diagonal to attack Black’s queen with the rook directly behind it. This turns a seemingly ordinary opening position into a decisive material-winning combination through alignment and piece placement.
