Henrique Mecking (White) Puzzle: Intermezzo — Check

An intermezzo, also called a zwischenzug, is an intermediate move inserted before the obvious recapture or material grab. Its power comes from forcing the opponent to respond, changing the move order in your favor. In this tactical middlegame position, Black exploits the exposed white king with a forcing check before collecting loose minor pieces. The combination shows why king safety can outweigh a temporary material deficit when several enemy pieces are undefended.
