Gawain Jones (White) Puzzle: Pin — Win Material
A pin becomes especially powerful when it arrives with tempo. In this position, White’s active queen and bishop create pressure against an exposed king, while Black’s pieces are cramped and poorly coordinated. The tactical point is not simply to attack a piece: a forcing check displaces the king and changes which defenders can respond. That shift leaves a major piece vulnerable, turning White’s lead in activity and king safety into a decisive material gain.
