Etienne Bacrot (White) Puzzle: Mate — Mating Net

A mating net is built by restricting the enemy king until every escape square disappears. In this position, Black’s rook, queen, and knight coordinate around the white king, whose weakened pawn shield makes the attack especially dangerous. The key strategic idea is to value king safety above material: even though White has an extra pawn and attacks the queen, Black can create a forcing threat that leaves no time for a defensive regrouping. This is a classic example of tactical coordination overwhelming material advantage.
