Dmitry Jakovenko (White) Puzzle: Draw — Perpetual Check

A perpetual check is one of chess’s most important drawing resources. Even when one side is far behind in material, an exposed king can outweigh the material count if the attacking queen can give a sequence of safe, forcing checks. Here, Black’s active queen, supported by pressure around White’s weakened king shelter, creates counterplay that prevents White from using the extra pieces. The goal is not to win material, but to maintain an unavoidable repetition.
