Boris Gelfand (White) Puzzle: Draw — Perpetual Check
A perpetual check is a drawing resource in which the defender keeps checking until the enemy king must repeat its route. In this chess endgame, White is materially behind, so passive defense would not be enough. The active bishops instead create a repeating sequence of checks around Black’s exposed king. Their long-range control makes the king’s escape squares predictable and turns initiative into compensation for a major material deficit.
