Aravindh Chithambaram (White) Puzzle: Mate — Mating Net
A mating net is created when the attacking pieces coordinate to restrict the enemy king’s escape squares while delivering forcing checks. In this position, White is materially behind, but Black’s exposed king matters far more than the material count. The queen and rook work together against a weakened pawn shield, and the defender’s own pieces limit its mobility. This is a classic chess endgame lesson: initiative and king safety can outweigh material when every reply is forced.
