Adolf Anderssen (White) Puzzle: Boden Mate — Diagonal Crossfire

The Boden mate is a beautiful bishop-based mating pattern in which two bishops attack the enemy king along crossing diagonals. It is especially powerful against an uncastled king whose own pieces and pawns restrict escape squares. Here, White’s active bishops and rook pressure expose how quickly king safety can outweigh a huge material deficit. The key is not material recovery, but recognizing that the king has no safe square once the diagonal net closes.
