Learn How to Win Material: Fork Tactic
This puzzle shows a classic middlegame tactical idea from the Van Geet Opening: using a forcing queen move to create a fork and win material. White’s queen is active, Black’s king is exposed, and the loose bishop on c2 becomes vulnerable once the king is forced to respond. The key lesson is that tactical pressure often comes from combining check, piece activity, and a target that cannot safely move away. In classical chess, these motifs frequently decide the game immediately.
