Learn How to Win Material: Tactical Forks
This puzzle is a classic opening tactic from the Van Geet Opening where White uses activity and king safety to convert a temporary initiative into a decisive material gain. The key idea is attraction: a forcing capture drags the enemy king into a vulnerable square, removing the defender and creating a fork. Even though Black has extra material, the exposed king and loose coordination make the position tactically fragile. In classical chess, these patterns often decide games before development is complete.
