Learn How to Win Material: Raptor Tactic
This puzzle comes from the Trompowsky Attack, where active piece play and king safety often matter more than static material. White’s rook activity creates a forcing tactical sequence against Black’s queen and loose pieces. The key idea is to use an active rook to create a skewer or overload, forcing the opponent into a defensive reply that still leaves them worse. In sharp classical chess positions, a single active piece can outweigh extra material if the enemy king is still exposed.
