Learn How to Win with an Intermezzo: Sicilian Tactics
This puzzle comes from the Sicilian Defense and shows how an intermezzo can completely change the evaluation of a position. Instead of recapturing or defending in the most obvious way, the stronger side uses a forcing tactical move to create check and win time. In classical chess, these in-between moves often expose loose pieces, overloaded defenders, and tactical vulnerabilities around the king and queen. The key idea is to look for forcing moves before settling material questions.
