Learn How to Win Material: Scandinavian Defense
This opening puzzle shows how a seemingly active piece can become a tactical liability when it is pinned, attacked, and overextended. In the Scandinavian Defense, development and king safety often matter more than grabbing space, and here Black uses pressure on the center and the exposed white king to win material. The key idea is to notice when a defended-looking piece is actually loose because another piece is tied to the king or to a more valuable target.
