Learn How to Win with a Fork: Tactical Advantage
This puzzle comes from the Rapport Jobava System and shows how a small lead in activity can turn into a decisive tactical shot. Black’s pieces are coordinated around the white king and queen, while White’s back rank and minor pieces are awkwardly placed. In classical chess, these positions often reward forcing moves that create a fork, a discovered attack, or a skewer. The key idea is to use a check to drag the king into a worse square, then win material with a follow-up tactic.
