Learn How to Win Material: Intermezzo Tactic
This puzzle comes from the Queen's Gambit Declined and shows a classic tactical pattern: remove the defender, then use an intermezzo to keep the initiative. White’s queen is exposed, the king is still in the center, and a pinned pawn creates tactical pressure on the whole position. In practical classical chess, these moments often decide the game because one accurate forcing sequence wins material and leaves the opponent unable to coordinate.
