Learn How to Win the Queen: Hanging Piece
This puzzle comes from the Polish Opening and shows how a seemingly active bishop can become a hanging piece when the king is forced into an awkward defensive role. White has piece activity and pressure, but Black’s king can often neutralize the attack by calmly accepting the sacrifice and then using the king as a defender. The key lesson is that in the opening and middlegame, tactical threats must be checked against concrete defensive resources before assuming a winning attack.
