Learn How to Win a Fork: Birmingham Gambit
This Polish Opening puzzle shows a classic tactical idea from the Birmingham Gambit: use active queen play to create a fork against loose enemy pieces. Black’s queen jumps into the position with tempo, targeting multiple white pieces at once and exploiting the fact that White’s king is still in the center. In practical classical chess, these positions often reward forcing moves, especially when the opponent has uncoordinated development and hanging pieces.
